How has the corona crisis lockdown of society influenced the everyday mobility of the Danes? Are we transporting ourselves considerably different than before? And could we imagine transporting differently after?
On March 11 the Danish government closed many of the country’s schools, workplaces and leisure activities in order to prevent the Coronavirus from spreading.
Additionally, several restrictions were imposed on public transport. These meant, among other things, a reduction in departures and fewer seats on public transport. The Danish population was increasingly encouraged to walk or to go by bike. Therefore, the lockdown meant that many Danes had to rethink their means of transportation in everyday life.
How significant these measures influenced the everyday life of the Danes was subject of an online survey. This is now completed.
The survey is developed by researchers at the University of Copenhagen and is a part of the European research project TInnGO.
The data collection is a part of the European research project TInnGO. TInnGO aims at creating smart and sustainable mobility for all citizens.
TInnGO stands for Transport Innovation Gender Observatory and is a three-year research project funded by EU’s HORIZON 2020-programme.
